A space for you, and for the people you love

I'm Berta, a registered psychologist for children, teenagers and adults. I help children, teenagers and adults understand what is happening to them and find tools to handle daily life better. We start with a 30-minute conversation, free and with no strings attached.

For your child —

When something isn't right, you feel it at home

You don't need a diagnosis before asking for help: if something worries you, a psychological assessment helps to understand what is going on and how best to act.

Sound familiar?

  • School tells you they struggle to stay focused, finish few tasks or act impulsively.
  • Homework turns into a moment of frustration because reading, writing or doing sums takes a huge effort.
  • Tantrums, irritability or difficulty managing emotions are frequent and affect daily life.
  • They sleep badly, seem more worried than usual or have stopped sharing how they feel.
  • In adolescence, difficulties appear with self-esteem, friendships, identity or managing emotions.

How I work with them.

  • First, understanding what is happening: psychological and educational assessment.
  • Specialist work with ASD, DLD and ADHD, with specific training from Sant Joan de Déu.
  • Remedial support for dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia.
  • Anxiety, emotional regulation, routines and habits — with younger children through play; with teenagers, speaking their language.

And always alongside you and the school: real change is built together.

For you —

A space of your own, free of judgement

Because of how you feel, a difficult moment in your life, or how to support the people around you: any reason is reason enough to ask for a space of your own.

Sound familiar?

  • Anxiety, stress or feeling stuck have been with you for a while.
  • You sleep badly, feel irritable or feel that everything is too much.
  • You are going through grief, a break-up or a major change.
  • Or parenting is getting the better of you and you can't keep up.

Individual therapy

For adults who want to feel better about themselves.

  • Anxiety, stress and feeling stuck.
  • Self-esteem and your relationship with yourself and others.
  • Times of change: grief, break-ups, becoming a parent.
  • Understanding what is happening to you and gaining tools for daily life.

Guidance for parents

For when it is parenting that feels overwhelming.

  • Understanding your child's situation or diagnosis.
  • Boundaries and tantrums without ending up shouting.
  • Communicating with your teenager.
  • Making life at home easier — and looking after your own calm too.

Starting is this simple

No endless waiting lists, no commitment. Three steps.

2

We talk

You tell me what's worrying you and I explain clearly how I would work on it and what you can expect.

3

We begin

We agree on goals, frequency and format —at the practice, online or at your home— and we get going.

My commitment: if after meeting you I believe I'm not the right professional for you, I'll say so honestly and point you towards someone who can help.

Hello, I'm Berta.

I'm a registered health psychologist. Ever since I started out in psychology the same thing has interested me: how what we live through, what we feel and the relationships we have shape our wellbeing. I have worked mainly with children, teenagers and families, supporting them through difficulty, change and growth.

I see therapy as a safe, confidential space free of judgement, where you can express yourself authentically and feel genuinely heard. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions: I work from an integrative, evidence-based approach, choosing in each case the tools that best fit the person in front of me, their history and their pace.

What people usually ask me

How do I know if my child needs psychological help?

If something has worried you for weeks —at home, at school or in how they feel— that is reason enough to ask. You don't need to wait for a diagnosis or for things to «get serious»: a 30-minute conversation helps us see whether something should be done, and what.

Do you only see children, or adults too?

Both. With children and teenagers I work on attention, behaviour and emotional regulation, ASD, DLD and ADHD, and learning difficulties. With adults I offer individual therapy: anxiety, stress, self-esteem, grief and times of change. And separately there is guidance for parents, which is a space of your own.

What is the first conversation like?

It's a relaxed video call or visit of about 30 minutes, free and with no commitment. You tell me what's worrying you, I explain how I would work on it, and you decide in your own time. If it's about your child, this first meeting is usually with the parents only.

How much does it cost?

The first 30-minute conversation is free. After that, sessions cost between €45 and €60 depending on the format —online, at the practice or at your home— and you can pay by cash, bank transfer, Bizum or PayPal. You'll find the full breakdown in the fees section.

Do you carry out psychological and educational assessments?

Yes, and it is usually the starting point: before doing anything it helps to understand clearly what is going on. The assessment gathers information from home, from school and from the child themselves, and ends with a feedback session where I explain what I have seen and what I suggest doing. You don't need to bring an existing diagnosis, and when it helps we coordinate with the school.

What is remedial educational support?

It is specific support for learning difficulties: dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. It is not extra tutoring or more homework. We work on the foundations —how they read, how they write, how they calculate— with strategies adapted to the way they learn, so that daily life stops being a struggle.

Will I be kept informed about my child's progress?

Yes. With children and teenagers, parents are part of the process: I explain how things are going, give you guidance for home and coordinate with the school when it helps. All while respecting their own space of trust.

How long does therapy last?

It depends on each case, and I'll tell you honestly from the start. We work with concrete goals that we review together, so the process lasts exactly as long as it needs to: no more, no less.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Everything discussed in session is confidential, within the ethical and legal limits of the profession. That safe space is the foundation of my work.

In person or online? In which language?

Whichever you prefer: at the practice (Sabadell, and Mataró soon), at your home in Barcelona and the surrounding area, or online from wherever you are. Sessions can be in Spanish, Catalan or English.

Does online therapy work just as well with children?

With teenagers and adults it works very well. With younger children it depends: some of the work happens through play and needs us to be in the same room. In the first conversation we weigh it up together and I'll tell you honestly what fits your case best; there is also the option of coming to your home.

And if we're not a good fit?

It can happen, and that's fine. The first conversation is there for us to get to know each other and weigh up together how I can help. And if I see that another professional is a better fit for what you need, I'll say so honestly and help you find the best option.
